Chausson 640 Welcome Handover

Couple standing next to a motorhome

Derek and Julie from West Hougham are pictured taking delivery of their Chausson 640 Welcome used motorhome.

They had decided to opt for a more compact vehicle that they can park on their drive for when they spot the weather is going to be decent and can just get up and go on a weekend adventure. They already had a motorhome so they decided to trade it with us and use it against the cost of the new motorhome.

They were impressed that even though the Chausson 640 is under 7 meters in length, the inside feels spacious and has 4 seat belts and beds for sleeping 4. They needed to have a 4-berth motorhome to provide the extra sleeping space for when they take their granddaughter away with them on their road trips.

John, a senior technician here at our modern workshop completed the handover process for Derek and Julie.

John and Shane would like to thank these guys for their valued order and wish them many miles of happy motorhoming! …

What to pack for a Motorhome Trip

Friends sat outside of a motorhome

Spring is here so its officially road trip time!

We have put together a list of a few of the items you might want to pack on a motorhome adventure.

Be sure to pack everything you need to make your trip comfortable and enjoyable.

Maps and GPS.

It's essential to have a reliable navigation system to help you plan your route and find your way around unfamiliar places.

Did you know you have the option to download Google Maps for use offline for areas with poor signal or if you do not have a data plan with your mobile phone contract? Note that offline maps won’t show live traffic data.

To download a map for offline use in Google maps, go to Google Maps on your smart device, then click your Profile icon (top right), scroll down to Offline maps, choose the area you will need to use offline, then click download.

Food and water

You'll want to have plenty of food and water on hand, especially if you're traveling in remote areas.

Kitchen supplies

Make sure to bring the necessary utensils, pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery for cooking and dining.

Clothing

Clothing suitable for the climate: It's important to pack clothing suitable for the climate you'll be traveling in, including warm layers for colder weather and comfortable clothing for warmer temperatures.

Toiletries

Don't forget to pack toiletries, including toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene items.

First-aid kit

It's important to have a well-stocked first aid kit that includes items such as bandages, antiseptic, painkillers, and any prescription medication you may need. Also make sure you have insect repellent, sunscreen and aftersun.

Flashlight

Having a source of light is critical, especially if you plan on camping in remote areas or arriving at your destination after dark.

Batteries

You'll need batteries for your flashlight, GPS, and other electronics.

Camera

Capture memories and take pictures of your adventures along the way. Consider bringing a camera or using your smartphone to take pictures and videos of your trip.

Leveling ramps

Needed for when you are on campsites or wild camping to keep your motorhome level.

Camping chairs and table

Having outdoor furniture will provide you with a comfortable place to sit and relax outside of the motorhome.

Entertainment options

Bring books, board games, or any other entertainment options you enjoy to keep you entertained during downtime.

Water hose

Having a hose is important to replenish the water tanks in your motorhome.

Towing eye

At this time of the year the ground can be water logged and if you are not staying on a hard surface there is a chance that your motorhome could get stuck if it sinks in to soft mud.

If a tow is required, the Fiat and Ford based motorhomes have a towing eye provided, and a location point in the front bumper. How to locate and use the towing eye - How It Works | Ford Ireland - YouTube

Bike electric scooter for provisions

Ideal to quickly go off and pick up extras without having to move your motorhome.
