New 2021 Chausson Motorhomes
TC Motorhomes are a solus Chausson Motorhome Facility, and as such we have a huge selection of new Chausson Motorhomes and Used Motorhomes available at our showroom at all times, all prepared to the highest standards.
Chausson designers and development teams are consistently at the forefront of motorhome development and modern design, and offer a terrific cross section of Layouts within various lengths of vehicle.
Most Chausson's can be specified on either the Fiat or Ford chassis, and are available with either Manual or Automatic transmissions. For 2021 this changes, when Automatics will be standard across the Chausson range.
The vast majority of New Chausson`s have a maximum weight of 3500 kg`s ( MTPLM ) and so don’t require any special driving license provision.
Currently we have a small number of New Unregistered 2020 model year Chaussons in stock, and are expecting towards the end of this year and early next that our 2021 Chaussons will begin to arrive!
As a result of the COVID-19 shutdowns this year, and disruption in the supply chains, there will be fewer new motorhomes available next year, with some manufacturers producing only half the number of New Motorhomes that would normally be delivered in an average year.
Chausson have found it possible to produce no less than 4 x brand new Chausson models for the 2021 season, plus most of the firm favourites from previous years. For most models there can be a choice of chassis, either Fiat or Fords coming complete with Automatic Transmissions as standard equipment across the three specification ranges.
These model ranges will comprise of an entry level `First Line` specification, an improved specification and appearance `Titanium VIP` model, on the Fiat chassis with 9 x speed Automatic, and ultimately the flagship `Titanium Premium` Models on the Ford Auto and good news!, they will be arriving soon at T C Motorhomes.
View the new for 2021 Chausson Motorhome models coming soon to TC Motorhomes.

Motorhoming in the Autumn
When people think of taking a holdiay in the UK, they imagine the seaside with it's ice-cream, or visiting a water park to cool down.
Have you considered booking a campsite in autumn could have many advantages? first of all, the schools go back at the start of September, this means that the campsites located around the UK are less likely to be fully booked, so it's an ideal time to visit some great lcoations without the bustle of the busy peak season.
Additionally the prices for campsite are reduced the further out of peak season it is, so you will be able to stay a bit longer, or book somewhere else and have two trips for the same type of price you would pay for just one trip in the middle of August.
Autum is an ideal time to visit some of the UK's best walks, when the leaves start to change colour it can be magical, with the bonus it can still be quite warm during the day. If you are also in to photography the Autumn light can create some fantastic warm shots, portraits can have a glow and the sunsets are stunning.
If you choose to stay in an area with low light polution autumn evenings are crisp and the skies are clear and its a great opportunity to see the stars and planets, there are some great apps for your phone to help you identify stars and planets. Google Sky Map Android App

Swift 664 Handover
Tanya, Simon and family from Cliffsend, are pictured taking delivery of their first family motorhome, a Swift 664 Lifestyle Special Edition.
As local business owners, getting a holiday, or just a short break can be difficult at times.
However with the motorhome, long weekends and maybe occasionally a longer break are suddenly possible, and in a changing world where travel can now be very difficult, Tanya and Simon believe that the Motorhome gives them the independence and flexibility that they need for themselves and their family.
Swift BOLERO 684 Handover
Annette and Mark from Sholden are pictured taking delivery of their first motorhome, the impressive Swift BOLERO 684 FB AUTO.
Whilst both Mark and Annette are very busy with work commitments, the opportunity the Motorhome will provide, to grab regular weekends and the occasional week or two away.
Will be a huge boost, and one that the whole family (from time to time) will be sharing, even a new Grandchild when it arrives later this year!
Congratulations to you all from TC Motorhomes.
We hope that you all have a great deal of fun with your Swift Bolero.

Testimonial
We had been looking at new motorhomes when we spotted one of interest to us with the layout we were looking for during lockdown on TC Motorhomes website . Made contact with Shane who was and has been most helpful and professional throughout the whole process. We paid a holding deposit and agreed a price for our trade-in motorhome (all subject to viewing when permitted) and also a superb price for additional items we required (wind-out awning, solar panel, bike rack, etc.) all of which were fitted to a high/professional standard. When lock-down rules permitted, we were able to view/test drive and agree the purchase and date to finalize trade-in and collection of our new motorhome. The whole process was an enjoyable worry free experience with TC Motorhomes. A big thank you to Shane, and Peter who went through everything with us on the new motorhome on day of collection. Would I go to TC Motorhomes again or recommend them? Yes I most definitely would.

New Testimonial
"Just purchased my very first motorhome. What a fantastic experience with T C Motorhomes. I want to say thank you to all the staff but the biggest thank you particularly to our salesman Pete. I purchased the motorhome primarily as my daughter is very poorly and he went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly. He was kind and courteous and very sympathetic to our needs. Most of all he always put a smile on our faces. Thank you so much Pete. I cannot recommend T C Motorhomes enough and they are most definitely the place to go. Professional but caring."

New Tesimonial
"Never having even owned a tent before we must have driven Shane absolutely mad with our questions whilst trying to decide if a Motorhome was the right option for us. We were totally guided through every option, design and gadget available to us with really sensible advice as to what we actually needed vs what could have been sold to us. No overselling just good informative clear advice. Even information with regard as to where to purchase custom fit bedding and, as we intend to travel to around Europe a fixed LPG gas bottle we could just refill enroute would be a good option for us. On our first trip out I imagined I would have Shane’s number on speed dial, however, after an amazing handover by John, who was beyond patient, we were like pros. Thank you all so much for your help and advice. Would highly recommend TC Motors - thank you all so much."MR & MRS C

"After a great deal of research, we made the decision to buy our new Fiat Twist from TC Motorhomes. We were complete novices, but fell in love with the feeling of independence after renting a Camper in Australia The purchase was handled by Shane and Neil who were really helpful answering all our questions with patience and honesty, with no sales pressure. Our two berth was beautifully finished and we were able to agree a great deal on a couple of additions to the package. A test drive and tutorial was arranged. The garage workshop and habitation preparation areas were spotless, another reason we felt comfortable using TCM. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new used Motorhome or MOT and service.Mr & Mrs Harper"

Planning a UK Roadtrip
Here in the UK we are lucky to have so many places that offer such a varied type of holiday. Visiting the lake district you can get back to nature and feel peaceful, or a holiday near a sea side means Fish and Chips and dipping your toes in the sea. Or you wish to visit somewhere more historic and learn something about the British history.
When planning a road trip, it is a good idea to look to online resources, finding a community of other motorhome owners would be a good place to start. There are various groups on Facebook, you can search in groups for motorhome and find one which matches your interests. You will be able to ask questions, read questions that other people have posted and pick up tips.
Anyone new to Motorhoming may be wondering where can I stay in in a motorhome?
There are restrictions about where you can stay in England, you are not allowed to stay on private property in your motorhome without the owner’s previous consent.
The highway belongs to the local council, different councils have different regulations regarding sleeping in your motorhome overnight. When considering parking up for the night, look for any signs relating to parking and check if it mentions sleeping at night.
It is better to find a campsite or private land (with permission) to stay on. If you want to get some ideas where you can stay the website WildCamping has a huge list of places you can stay categorised in to specific interests.

What is i.R.P Technology
iRP stands for Insulation, Resistance and Protection and because Chausson are confident that your motorhome is protected against, leaks, storms, heat and cold they offer a 7 year warranty on water tightness. This gives peace of mind knowing that your motorhome won’t start having leaks appear.
Insulation
The insulation used in the Chausson range of motorhomes is made of up of different types of top quality materials, to ensure that your motorhome maintains thermal insulation, meaning the motorhome is great in either cold or hot weather temperatures and you can maintain your chosen internal temperature economically.
Resistance
Chausson use a protective polyester (GRP) skin which gives a resistance to the motorhome from scratches, chips caused from gravel on the road and damage caused by extreme weather conditions and ultraviolet radiation from the sun
The floors and the roof have been made extra thick which means they are robust and can withstand weight without deforming with use over time.
Protection
Chausson Motorhomes use materials that are anti-rot and the materials are glued together on the aluminium frame instead of drilled to minimise holes that could cause leaks.
The outer shell is covered in polyester (GRP) to protect the exterior from extreme weather such as hail stones, and is also resistant to salt.
7-year Warranty on water-tightness
Chausson are confident that the materials and methods used to build the motorhome mean that you will be guaranteed for 7 years against leaks if you Buy a new Chausson motorhome.

Staycation, not so bad?
Due to COVID being less infectious outside and the ability to social distance, camping is one of the safest options for anyone who is looking to get away.
Campsites have more space between occupants, with pitches often being spread out with over 5 meters distance between them.
Owning a motorhome and having the peace of mind to be self-contained means people can enjoy a staycation without the worry of cross contamination.
You will be sleeping in your own bed with your own bedding, cooking in your own kitchen space with your own utensils and using your own bathroom without having to worry about how deep cleaned the facilities have been before your use them.
Motorhomes being a ‘home from home’ and giving you the ability to be self-contained in your own bubble, means you can enjoy your holiday without the extra worry.
Here at TC Motorhomes we are seeing extra interest from people who are starting to recognise, that owning a motorhome could be a great investment for people who like to travel, and explore pastures new.
There are lots of great locations around the UK, taking a look at various websites such as Travel Supermarket, The camping and caravan club,
you can get some great suggestions of places to visit in the UK, oh and there are many Country Pubs and Vineyards in the UK that are `Motorhome friendly` .. https://www.britstops.com/welcome.php
Looking at places such as TripAdvisor as well means you can find some information from people who have already visited locations of interest, along with adding some tips for your stay.
Due to the current economic situation in the UK as the lockdown eases it would be great to support British businesses, who have been having a worrying time not knowing how and if things will ever get back to normal again.
Please note although you are currently allowed to use your motorhome to travel to other destinations you are still not allowed to camp out in your motorhome overnight away from your home, but hopefully the advisers will see fit to relax the travel rules further very soon.. Watch this space ...

Chausson’s 520 Review
Out and about live recently wrote a review for the Chausson 520.
Chausson’s 640 has been a best seller right across Europe. With its mix of big lounge (and super-sized drop-down bed above), spacious end washroom/dressing-room and a full-sized bike-swallowing garage, its appeal is plain to see. Perhaps, the only thing against it is its length – even a fraction under 7m is too big for some buyers.
So, for 2020, the concept of the 640 comes in three sizes. The new 650 is over half a metre shorter (despite the greater model number) but it’s the real baby of the trio – the 520 – that we’re interested in here as it’s only 5.96m long (when based on Fiat, 3cm more on Ford). The new 520 also replaces the previous 530 and introduces the Smart Lounge format into Chausson’s smallest low-profile for the first time, making this a unique offering in the market.
Thus, this diminutive little motorhome (the same length as many a Fiat Ducato van conversion) has Chausson’s Maxi-Lounge (with side settees that convert into forward-facing belted travel seats), a wide entrance door (600mm), a large washroom and even Isofix for a pair of child seats. And, although it can’t match the external garage space of the larger 640 and 650, it still has an outside locker accessed by a top-hinged hatch in the rear wall. In here there are two fold-up shelves and a maximum height of 0.95m, while depth is 0.35m.
It’s the space in the lounge that really impresses, though. The settees seem a touch high (taller than the swivelled Ford cab seats on their highest setting) but there’s room for up to seven folk and the nearside settee is a generous 1.57m long. Also, the table twists, slides and folds to free up space – or unfolds to a 1.00m by 0.82m dining surface. An overcab Skyroof further increases the feeling of space.
There’s plenty of headroom under the drop-down bed when raised and, when down, it measures 1.88m by 1.39m (narrowing to 1.20m). It comes right down to seat height and only slightly obstructs the entrance.
The kitchen includes a fridge totally out of proportion with the size of motorhome – a whopping (and welcome) 167 litres. It’s a French spec model shown here but UK versions get a Thetford Triplex cooker with three burners and a combined grill/oven.
Across the rear, behind a curving white tambour door is a good-sized washroom with a rectangular basin, cassette toilet, generous separate shower with roof vent and twin drains, and a large, mirror-fronted cupboard with sliding door. More mirrors hide the double wardrobe with side-by-side hanging rails, but be aware that a lot of space is taken up by the extra cushions which convert the lounge into a second double bed (if required).
The 520 is available on either Fiat or Ford chassis (120 or 130bhp as standard respectively, but with upgrades available). Our choice would be the Transit, which offers the more modern cab and more cosseting suspension set-up, as well as a slightly lower price.
You’ll definitely need the £1,750 VIP Pack (cab air-conditioning, passenger airbag, cruise control, flyscreen door, colour-coded front bumper, seat covers, panoramic skylight, etc), but it’s tempting to go further with the Premium Pack (an additional £2,200) which enhances the motorhome with everything from cab blinds to central locking on the habitation door, a reversing camera and plenty more.

Motorhome Storage
For some Motorhome & Touring Caravan owners the decision to store their vehicle at home, or in a storage compound is a tricky one.
Even for those fortunate enough to have sufficient space and access at home for a Caravan or Motorhome, there are often other important considerations.
Like, are there any covenants prohibiting me from keeping my vehicle at home, or with respect to my neighbours should I look to keep my vehicle in a storage compound, rather than on the driveway at home.
If you have decided for whatever reason that your vehicle must go into storage,
You might like to search storage options within a close radius from home, so that the inconvenience of going and recovering your vehicle when it`s required is minimised.
One body that may be able to assist you in your search for a suitable secure site is The Caravan Site Storage Owners Association.
With over 400 approved CaSSOA sites across the UK, there is hopefully one close at hand, and with security being a prime consideration for Insurance Companies your Insurance costs may well be lower as a result of choosing a CaSSOA site.
Happy Hunting!

Essential Motorhome Routines
However there are maintenance routines that maybe get missed in normal times, that right now we all have time in the world to be doing.
Here`s a quick and easy one to consider Lubricating All Door and Locker Locks.
This is a task that might only take you 5-10 minutes, but could save you a heap of heartache if a door locker was to seize at some stage in the future, locking you out or necessitating replacing the lock.
Our suggestion is that you find a suitable lock lubricant, (we suggest one that has a PTFE Content is best) and examples like GT85 or 3 In 1 are ideal to use to work your way around your motorhome, spraying a little lubricant into the lock, and then working it in with the key. Remember to wipe off any excess lubricant that may have spilled on to the bodywork. As a result your locks should work better and stay that way for longer.
We are still available for all your motorhome queries during the COVID-19 lockdown and can be contacted via email sales@tcmotorhomes.com.

Camping at home during lockdown
Using your motorhome and camping equipment during the COVID-19 lockdown.
We know these are tough times and isolation can be difficult. We miss friends, families, children and our grandchildren.
We’ve spoken to a few of you who are really missing being able to get away, closed campsites and ‘stay at home’ restrictions are hard for everyone so we’ve pulled together some ideas and are sharing some recommendations from existing customers, family and friends to get you through the coming weeks and making the most of this beautiful springtime, our families and our motorhomes and camping equipment from the safety of our homes and gardens.
How to escape while staying put.
You may have already tried it but …. staying in your motorhome while parked on the driveway or camping in the garden can make a nice change to your day to day life and a welcome change of scenery - and the great news is you know the facilities are first class! If you don’t have a garden big enough for a tent why not camp out in the lounge for a night?
For those of you with limited space inside but do have a motorhome or space for a tent in the garden why not use it as an extension of your home – use it as a kid’s playroom or home school area. It could also be your Joe Wicks PE space, mum’s yoga retreat or dad’s temporary office space?
Make your change of scenery the location of a game’s night - or if the weathers nice the craftier few of you could attempt to make your own projector for an outdoor movie night!
The warmer weather is also a great opportunity to fire up the BBQ or just eat outside – burgers/kebabs can all be cooked in the oven and eaten picnic style outside. Kids could also make their own fruit kebabs as desert – they are just as fun as lollies with less dripping!
If they do get a bit sticky – get the hose out! Kids love water, fill a bucket and add some toys or give them some paintbrushes to ‘paint’ the fence.
We’ve also seen some great ideas for indoor and outdoor assault courses which the kids are loving!
Anyone struggling for ideas on keeping the kids entertained?
Here’s a few more ideas that our kids are using and adapting to keep our grandchildren busy but also having fun in what must feel like such a strange time for them. If you can’t see your grandchildren, then calling them using free apps like Facetime/What’s App/Zoom and Houseparty could be a great way to help out and ‘assisting’ with these activities.
- Use torches to make shadow puppets (this can be done inside your tent or on a blank wall in your motorhome or inside the house.
- Create shadows of toys in the garden, line the toys up with some paper behind them and trace round the shadows – you can use the silhouettes to colour in later or decorate.
- The same torches can be used when reading (and this can be done anywhere), get the kids to flash the light on words as they read them, littluns will have fun controlling what you are saying and for older ones you could get them to pick words at random or go through more challenging books picking out words they know?!
- Boxes – if like some of our families you are using delivery services then you may have lots of boxes – no matter the size keep them to one side…they are great for building robots, or if you make holes in them kids love dropping things through the holes – think pom poms/marbles or straws. Larger boxes can contain small children – give them crayons and you will have enough time to make (and possible enjoy) a cup of tea!) Even bigger boxes could be decorated and used for the kids to sit in during movie night!
- As Grandparents why not do a regular ‘storytime;’ slot and ring or video the kids before bed…mix it up a bit by changing where you are in your house/motorhome or tent and get them to guess where you are!
Get some Housekeeping done
Our motorhomes need some TLC occasionally, so this is a great opportunity to carry out some very easy maintenance and checks on your motorhome’s general health, preparing it for when we are free to get travelling again!

"Just a quick thank you for your help with the purchase of our 640. All of the team that we met were friendly, knowledgable and most helpful especially Dave.
The flowers are lovely and much appreciated.
As you see, we are starting to make good use of the van and hopefully off for a short break in Normandy at the end of the month.
Mary and Rodger"

Customer's Road Trip
"Thanks once again for the great service received today. Not only the investigation and replacing the battery but we really appreciate the time taken to explain to us about the battery workings, positioning and ideas on preserving the battery. Please pass on our thanks. Its all a learning curve and this information will definitely help us to get the most out of our van. First class service as always.
I’ve attached below a few photos where the van had been parked up for the night or for lunch. Perfect thing about van life is the places we can stop to eat or sleep and how easy we can adapt our plans. Great lifestyle choice but also a great van choice...6500 miles in 4 months!!
In 4 months we’ve stayed so many new places - Canterbury, Dobbs Weir, Herne Bay, Feuillères, Saint-Laurent-de-Céris, Argelès-Gazost, Puçol, Mazarrón, Villajoyosa, Mendigorría, Île-de-Oleron, Jumièges, Wallingford, Grenay, Orcet, Blanes, Rojales, Roses, Saint Usage, Géraudot, Ressons-de-Long, Chilham although we’ve also visited many more.
We look forward to being customers of yours for many years to come and always recommend you at every opportunity."
Motorhome VED debate
Ruth Jones MP (Labour, Newport West) has secured a Westminster Hall debate, entitled “Motorhomes and Vehicle Excise Duty”.
We urgently need MPs to attend the debate to demonstrate to Government the strength of support and how important this is to the motorhome industry.
Please email or call your local MP, today to urge them to attend and speak on your behalf in the debate.
Where: Westminster Hall, London
When: Tuesday, 21st January
Time: 4.00pm
We are also appealing to all our members and organisations impacted by the increase in VED, to write or write again to their local MPs and Business MPs (if they are different) asking for their support. This is easy to do, using our letter template.
We need your support more than ever if we are going to reverse this hike in VED.
Thank you,
The NCC Policy Team

Michael and Jacqueline are looking forward to the new and exciting features that Chausson have introduced in the last few years, and also the hugely impressive Ford AUTOMATIC Transmission, (standard on all New Chausson TITANIUM Models).
Shane and his colleagues at T C `s would like to thank these guys for their valued business and continued support ..
Thank you!
