Travel Blog Final Part

Our last days of holiday were spent on familiar ground.  Bruges is a lovely place and very easy to get to from the camp-site.  Other cities are easy to reach by train and for senior citizens it only costs €5.20 (about £4.60) for a return and we took advantage of going to Antwerp where we were duly impressed by the very ornate Central Station and did an hour’s sightseeing on a horse-drawn, old fashioned bus.  Our last stop was in Adinkerke where cycling is easy!

Two miles or so in one direction and we were at Bray Dunes in France and going in the other direction to De Panne we cycled along the coast to Neuweport – a total of 25 miles there and back, but all on the flat and a really lovely ride.  We ended our holiday with a tram ride along the full length of the coast to Knokke, taking rather longer than usual at 3 hours because of works on the roads and tram lines and at one point when our line was closed clever timing got us on to the other line with a police motor cycle escort!

We covered 8 countries and a total of around 3000 miles and our magnets board now contains over 65 magnets from places we have visited over the last few years.  Good holiday but good to be back.
